Meet The Team: Rob Toro

Rob Toro is employee number four at 7Rivers and came in with a mission. After 20 years in consulting and over 30 years in the tech industry, Rob knew he needed to be part of this journey. He’s lived through major shifts in technology, like the rise of the internet, mobile, and cloud, and saw generative AI as the next big wave of change. With a deep passion for innovation, Rob joined 7Rivers to help lead organizations into this new era and build something meaningful from the ground up.

Role at 7Rivers

Rob leads the Data and AI practice at 7Rivers as a Partner, where he’s focused on building a team that can deliver on the company’s mission, helping customers use data and AI in smart, effective ways. He guides his teams through every stage of the consulting lifecycle, from developing solutions to successful launch, ensuring the work is modern, thoughtful, and aligned with real business outcomes. Rob is also deeply involved in shaping what 7Rivers offers, identifying where customers need help, and designing services that are strategic, high-value, and innovative. A firm believer in practicing what we preach, Rob ensures the internal teams at 7Rivers are using the same AI tools and approaches we recommend to clients—building automations, improving our own processes, and constantly learning. He believes in structuring his organizations around small, fast-moving teams that grow by learning from one another, sharing ideas freely, and being led with empathy.

Professional Journey

Rob’s path to 7Rivers came after two decades in consulting, where he worked across companies of all sizes and learned firsthand how to build strong, effective technical teams. What ultimately brought him to 7Rivers was a conversation with Paul Stillmank, Founder and CEO, whose vision for the future of data, AI, and generative AI deeply resonated with him. Rob saw a chance to help build something new, something that truly matched where the industry was heading. Joining 7Rivers gave Rob the chance to get back to his passion and curiosity for technology while helping lead a company focused on innovation and impact.

Personal Insights and Interests

Music is a big part of Rob’s life. He plays guitar and loves catching live shows, especially around Chicago, where there’s always something good going on. His playlist is all over the map, and he’s always up for hearing something new. Rob also comes from an Italian family, which might explain why he didn’t try Mexican food until he was 30 and still hasn’t ever eaten at Taco Bell. Outside of work, you’ll usually find him at a concert, playing music, traveling, or just enjoying time with his wife and two daughters.
