Josh excels as a Data Warehouse Architect, specializing in DataVault. His love for design and modeling enables him to deliver high-quality code swiftly. Part of Josh’s success in consistently meeting client needs is rooted in his collaborative approach with the 7Rivers team. He believes in “conjoining at the brain” to achieve success, often working closely with colleagues like Isaiah Artsy, regardless of geographical distances.
Professional Journey
Josh graduated from Indiana University in 2012 with a double major in business and psychology. Though he initially did not plan on a tech career, he found the field captivating and self-taught his way into it, guided by mentors along the way. Josh is now an expert in data analytics, data science, and data engineering. He continually seeks to enhance his skills, particularly within the Snowflake ecosystem, and is excited about future projects involving Snowflake migrations.
His advice for those entering the tech field is to embrace curiosity and continuous learning. Josh views the tech industry similarly to the trades, where one learns from masters who share their hard-earned knowledge. This mentorship has been crucial to his own development, and he strives to pass on this wisdom to others. He reminds newcomers that “everything is complex and takes time, even for the smartest people. Don’t get impatient and have grace with yourself.”
Personal Insights and Interests
Living on a homestead with his wife, three daughters, a son on the way, and an array of animals including four dogs and hogs, Josh enjoys a balanced life. His interests include exercising, lifting weights, and practicing his Catholic faith. An interesting tidbit about Josh is that he was ranked 4th in Ohio for shot put during his senior year of high school.
